An idiographic that explains the four stages of laboratory manipulation and extraction studies. It is divided into four sections. The first section is titled "Laboratory Manipulation and Extraction Studies" and it explains how to evaluate how easily the formulation can be manipulated. The second section is "Pharmacokinetic Studies" which explains that the study evaluates in vive PK profiles of manipulated and intact drug vs comparator. The third section is labeled "Clinical Abuse Potential (CAP) Studies". The fourth section is labelled "Assess impact on appeal to abusers (ie drug liking)". The fifth section is called "postmarking Studies". Each section has a number from 1 to 4 indicating that it is a step in the process of evaluating the study. The first step is "Determine if formulation results in lower levels of abuse vs non-deterrent formulations". The second step is labeled as "Postmarking Studies" with a number 4. The fourth step is numbered "4".
