A diagram of the brain which is a cross-section of the human brain. It shows the different parts of the head and neck including the cerebrum the spinal cord and the spinal nerves.

The brain is divided into different sections including thalamus the cingulate cortex the somatosensory cortex and an insular cortex. The thalamus is located in the center of the image and it is responsible for regulating the flow of blood from the brain to the spinal column. The spinal cord is located at the bottom of the diagram and is connected to the parabrachial nucleus which helps to regulate the movement of the blood vessels in the brain.

There are also several other parts in the image that are labeled with their names such as the periapaeductal gray the rostral ventral medulla the pag the parachial nerves the occipital cord the nociceptor the peripheral nervous system the central nervous system (Pag) and the cerebral cortex. These parts are responsible for controlling the nervous system and regulating the blood flow.
